My name is Wendy Cox and I graduated from Francis Marion University in 1999 with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education.  I taught third grade at Walker Gamble Elementary before having our first child.  When our first child was two years old, I opened Doodle Buzz Academy, a licensed, ABC quality child care center and SC First Steps 4K.  I owned and operated Doodle Buzz Academy for 16 years until I had my last child, Eli. Eli was born with Down Syndrome, and I fell in love with early intervention through Eli's early interventionist.  I realized the need for early intervention in this area and from that realization, Beyond The Stars Early Intervention was born. It warmed my heart to know that abilities are limitless and even children with delays and special needs can reach beyond the stars.  I live in Lake City with my husband, Neil Cox and our 9 kids.

My name is Lisa McDonald and I am a Registered Nurse from Lake City, SC. My husband and I have2 adult children and 4 amazing grandchildren. In our spare time, we enjoy outdoor activities, such as boating, fishing, and spending as much time as possible with family. My nursing career began in 1989 when I graduated from Florence Darling Technical College with an Associate Degree in Nursing. Years later, I returned to college and in 2009, I graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Over 35 years in healthcare have afforded me the opportunity to serve both adult and pediatricpopulations in a variety of arenas. Early in my nursing career, I worked with SC DHEC engaging in a variety of public health services, including maternal and child health services. It was in the public health arena that I was given the opportunity to care for expectant mothers, monitoring their health and teaching healthy maternal practices. I cared for babies and children through performing newborn home visits and assessments, performing developmental assessments, and engaging in plans and interventions to address developmental delays. Today, this work is known as Early Intervention and I am delighted to continue serving our community through this work at Beyond the Stars Early Intervention.

My husband Randall and I have one daughter named Gabby who is 15 years old. We enjoy watching her play sports and spending time together as a family. I have helped my sister and my parents care for him for much of my life and I love being able to see him grow in his abilities and as a person. The most rewarding aspect of my job is to get to see the children that I serve reach their goals. I am so excited to get to do this everyday and look forward to serving so many precious children.
